I love the book of Joshua (in the bible). From the very beginning, God is preparing Joshua for what he has planned for him and that He is with him every step of the way, ensuring that the promises God made to them will surely come to pass. Within four verses, God tells Joshua THREE times to be strong and of good courage. The second time, God even says be VERY courageous... what a good God we have, people!!! He encourages us when we are faced with changes in our lives. He cares about our hearts and wants us to know that He's right there beside us the whole way. He has not forgotten about us; He wants us to be confident in ourselves. I mean, HELLO... he told Joshua three times to be brave and have unfading courage; to believe in himself and believe in God that He will come through with His promises and not leave them. I'm just saying, I love God. What other 'gods' out there encourage people's hearts and make sure that their hearts are ready before battle? How many of them care about their people enough to build their people up so that they have confidence in themselves and their God? Just a little note to say that I love how God encourages us, from thousands of years ago to today.
Just this week I've been fretting over possible changes I'll make in my life soon. God is talking to me in that sweet, simple, quiet voice of His not to worry about it. He knows the path I'm supposed to take and His timing is perfect. Just pray about it, friends, He will guide your heart. They way I see it, if you're unsure about a choice, just make a decision and see where it goes... if the door closes then you know that path wasn't meant for you. Just try another door, it's as simple as that.
I was reading today from 40 Days With Jesus: Celebrating His Presence by Sarah Young (author of Jesus Calling) and read a great passage... "Through the intimacy of our relationship, your are being transformed from the inside out. As you keep your focus on Me, I form you into the one I desire you to be. Your part is to yield to My creative work in you, neither resisting it nor trying to speed it up. Enjoy the tempo of a God-breathed life by letting Me set the pace. Hold my hand in childlike trust, and the way before you will open up step by step." My favorite part is the end... just go with the flow and things will fall into place; God's got a handle on things so don't over worry (I know you'll worry a little- it's what we all do naturally- but just don't over do it, you know?). Just do what you're doing- do it for the Lord: with joy and confidence and love. :) And He'll take care of the rest!
But don't just sit on the side-lines an be a lazy bum either- get up and move those legs, get going! I say this out of love, of course. :o)
